Tools need that aren’t included in kit:  Needle nose pliers, wire cutters

General directions – Work on a flat surface, thread pins onto wire either left to right or right to left, it doesn’t matter as long as you keep the pins facing the same way. (inside or outside)

Begin at the bottom of the basket.

Pull the wire in each row tightly, twist ends together and clip wire about Ό” and bend upward to hide wire inside basket.

Row 1 – Using about 9” wire, *thread the bottom end of beaded pin and 1 - 8mm faceted bead and continue with this until you have 18 pins and 18 beads on the first row.  Twist the ends together tightly and clip wire about Ό” and bend it upward.

Row 2 – Using about 7” of wire, *thread top of safety pin from row 2, bottom of a new beaded pin, top of another pin from row 2 and 1 -8mm faceted bead.*  Continue with * * until you have nine new pins and nine 8mm faceted beads.  Twist ends together and clip off as before.

Row 3 – Using about 7” of wire, *thread bottom of new safety pin with the top of safety pin from row 2, another bottom of new pin and an 8mm faceted bead*.  Continue * * until you have 18 new pins and nine – 8mm faceted.  Twist and clip ends as before.

Row 4 – Using about 12” of wire, *thread bottom of a new safety pin, the top of safety pin from row 3, another bottom of a new safety pin and an 8mm faceted bead.*  Continue with * * until you have 36 new pins and 18 – 8mm – faceted.  Twist and clip of ends.

Row 5 – Using about 16” of wire, *Thread the top of 1 safety pin from Row 4, an - 8mm faceted bead, the top of another safety pin from Row 4,*.  Continue with * * until you have 36 pins and 36 – 8mm faceted beads on row.  Twist and clip as before.

Handle – Using about 9” of wire, tie into the middle of the basket and *add 1 – 8mm faceted bead, the head of one safety pin, another 8mm faceted bead, the bottom of another safety pin.*  Continue until you have 13 safety pins that are added in the opposite direction from the other pin and 14 – 8mm faceted beads.  Tie off on the other side of basket.  You should have 16 faceted beads between the tie offs for the handle.  Using the rest of the wire, tie into the other side of the basket, leaving 2 faceted beads between and copy the other side of the handle.

Bottom of Basket – I finished this basket off with some foam glued onto the basket so you could use this for flowers, nick-knacks, jewelry, etc.  This would make a lovely hand made gift for that little girl or special someone in your life. .
